Poetics of the Discarded

by Lori Goldberg

My painterly gestures express a sense of randomness that mirrors the intricate chaos of the forest—a symphonic cacophony teeming with life, where mycelium and roots communicate to sustain it. I envision the forest as an orchestra, each element contributing to a harmonious yet chaotic symphony. With every brushstroke, I engage in a dialogue with my materials, reflecting the interconnectedness of all living things. My work embodies this vibrant interplay, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of life, the struggle for survival, and the resilience within the natural world.

My ultimate goal is to encourage people to reflect on their own experiences of place and to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse experiences that comprise our collective human story. I am passionate about fostering collaborative, mutually beneficial inquiries that use art as a tool for personal and spiritual growth and promote positive change in our environment.
