Salon

  • Brookland-CUA station 801 Michigan Avenue Northeast Washington, DC, 20017 United States (map)

Led by Melanie Weldon-Soiset, this salon will explore our 1st-quarter theme of “Inspiration” in both creative and spiritual contexts. Our time together will include some short writing exercises and contemplative practices, interspersed with conversation on the topic, sharing from our own life stories, and getting to know each other. In preparation, you're invited to reflect beforehand on a time when you felt inspired in some way. What qualities about that thing, person, or event moved you? What did this inspire you to do, be, make, or feel? We'll each share for a couple minutes on this with the group. You may also find it useful to bring a notebook and writing tool.

Capacity: 8 people

About the host: Melanie Weldon-Soiset has always loved languages and books, and has just started accepting God's permission to call herself a poet. Her muses include bike rides on the Anacostia River Trail, gardening in her back yard, and her cat, Taz. Learn more about Melanie's bio, work, and interests at melanieweldonsoiset.com.
