Faithful Through and Through

I am a multidisciplinary artist focused on contemporary views of mental health and spirituality. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I highlight the importance of aligning with one's values to boost motivation and manage moods and emotions. Influenced by Christian ethics, I use various mediums like oil painting, drawing, photography, and text to create multilayered projects that reflect the complexity of my subjects. My oil paintings emphasize mark-making and explore color, shape, and gesture to convey emotions. I aim for an immersive experience that connects my experiences with the viewer's. Central to my practice is subconscious painting and intuitive decision-making. I often work directly on the floor.

Robert T. Rogers (b. Memphis, TN) artistic practice spans painting, digital photography, drawing, and writing. Drawn from intimate reflections and a studied curiosity about belief systems, his work often engages with secular culture while drawing inspiration from devotional art and Judeo-Christian spirituality. He holds an M.A. in Advertising and a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, along with a Graduate Certificate in Visual Arts from Harvard Extension School. He studied visual arts at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Harvard University; and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Based in Brookline, MA, Rogers serves on the Brookline MLK Celebration Committee and volunteers with the Brookline Senior Center and the Brookline Food Pantry.
