Legacy: The Intentional Path

Register for this event at Eventbrite HERE…

Disruption can be a gift, though often an unwelcome one, at least at first. Have you been on a road trip and, all of a sudden, come to a roadblock that forced you onto a different route? Yet how many of us would admit that something epic happened as a result of that diversion, that disruption?

We find ourselves in a global pandemic moment, a “moment” that may continue for a while. It’s not what anyone would have wished. The consequences are serious.

Yet for those whose circumstances include some space for reflection, this time will prove to have been ripe for growth.

What if you used the liminal space that the pandemic affords to reflect on where your path is taking you and to do some course corrections if need be?

Cary Umhau will lead a legacy workshop designed to prompt self-examination, open up space to listen anew to God, and give you tools for continued reflection on what to do to get back on your intended path or chart a new course towards the future you’ll eventually arrive at, saying, “Yes, that was how I intended to live.” Living life that way is immeasurably more beautiful than we can imagine.

Our 2.5 hours together will include some teaching, a little group conversation, inspiration from outside ourselves, a creative outlet, and guided self-reflection. Cary will then leave you with some tools to do continued assessments and check-ups as your journey goes on.

(A few) materials will be suggested a week ahead of time.

Zoom link will be sent to registrants prior to the event.

Capacity: To allow for sharing, this workshop is limited to 5 participants. When full, new registrants can join the waitlist and will automatically be notified if there is a cancellation. If you're no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration at least 48 hrs before the event so that the next person can be notified of an opening.

Donations Welcome: There is no obligation, but if you feel led, donations are welcome and will go directly to the leader. Venmo information will be provided during the event.

Leader: Cary Umhau teaches, writes, speaks, and creates events generally around the theme of knowing our belovedness and uniqueness as seen through the eyes of God and in community.

She is the author of Burning Down the Fireproof Hotel, a spiritual memoir. She co-founded and helps lead Breadcoin, a hunger nonprofit. She created and teaches a class called Man in the Mirror at the Central Union Mission men’s homeless shelter, a class that covers a version of what we will do in our workshop.

Cary is a grandmother, road tripper (when not quarantined), and loves line-dancing.
